Roedd John Hardman Powell yn nai i John Hardman, sylfaenydd Hardman & Co., cwmni sy'n enwog am waith metel eglwysig yn yr arddull ganoloesol. Cynhyrchwyd y rhan fwyaf o ddyluniadau’r cwmni gan AWN Pugin ac roedd John Hardman Powell yn ddisgybl i AWN Pugin.

Pan adeiladwyd y Capel Coffa yn 1923/24, tynnwyd y pâr o ffenestri ar y chwith pellaf. Pan estynnwyd y Gangell ym 1931/32, gwnaed darpariaeth i adfer y pâr coll er bod pob un wedi'i osod yn ei doriad ei hun, gan wneud y pâr ar y dde ymhellach oddi wrth ei gilydd.
The five splendid paired windows in the sanctuary depict the birth and boyhood of Jesus, while the roundels at the bottom of each window show some of the prophets. The windows were installed between 1884 and 1889 and were designed by John Hardman Powell. John Hardman Powell was the nephew of John Hardman, the founder of Hardman & Co., a company famous for medieval style ecclesiastical metalwork. Most of the company’s designs were produced by AWN Pugin and John Hardman Powell was a pupil of AWN Pugin.
It should be noted that the right hand pair of windows is recessed differently to the others. Originally, the windows were installed symmetrically with two pairs to the left of the altar, one pair behind, and two pairs to the right. When in the Memorial Chapel was built in 1923/24, the pair of windows on the furthest left were removed. When the Chancel was extended in 1931/32, provision was made to restore the missing pair though each was mounted in its own recess, making the right-hand pair further apart than the others.
