Yr Organ
Offeryn tri-llaw yw'r organ gyda mwy na 3000 o bibellau.
Gosodwyd offeryn dwy law gan William Hill o Lundain yn wreiddiol ym 1873 ar gost o £525. Fe'i gosodwyd y tu mewn i siambr rhwng y gangell a'r transept deheuol.
Ailadeiladodd John Stringer o Hanley yr organ ar ddiwedd y 1850au, ac ym 1859 gosododd set newydd o bedalau a gweithred niwmatig ar yr organ bedal. Yn ddiweddarach y flwyddyn honno, addasodd Stringer ef i gael ei chwythu gan injan hydrolig a wnaed gan Duncan and Co o Lerpwl.
Ailadeiladwyd yr organ yn gyfan gwbl ym 1926 gan Rushworth a Dreaper o Lerpwl ar gost o £5500. Roedd cas yr organ newydd a oedd yn ymestyn i'r gangell a'r transept deheuol wedi'i wneud o dderw Japaneaidd. Gosodwyd consol tri-llaw anghysbell newydd rhwng y gangell a'r Capel Coffa. Roedd chwythwr trydan allanol ar wahân wedi'i leoli rhwng siambr yr organ a'r transept deheuol.
1n 1968, adnewyddodd Rushworths yr offeryn yn llwyr ac aildiwniodd yr offeryn. Ychwanegwyd stopiau a raciau pibellau newydd.
Adnewyddwyd y consol yn 2016 ar gost o £8000.
Yn haf 2017, cafodd yr organ ei datgymalu a dechreuwyd ailadeiladu gan Henry Willis and Sons o Lerpwl. Cwblhawyd y gwaith yng ngwanwyn 2018 ar gost o £146000. Mae’n ddiddorol nodi i Rushworth and Dreaper gau yn 2002 a bod Henry Willis and Sons, gynt o Petersfield, yn defnyddio’r adeilad yn Lerpwl fel ei ffatri.
The Organ
The organ is a three-manual instrument with more than 3000 pipes.
A two-manual instrument by William Hill of London was originally installed in 1873 at a cost of £525. It was fitted inside a chamber between the chancel and the south transept.
John Stringer of Hanley rebuilt the organ in the late 1880s, and in 1889 fitted a new set of pedals and a pneumatic action to the pedal organ. Later that year, Stringer adapted it to be blown by a hydraulic engine made by Duncan and Co of Liverpool.
The organ was completely rebuilt in 1926 by Rushworth and Dreaper of Liverpool at a cost of £5500. The new organ case which extended into both the chancel and south transept was made of Japanese oak. A new remote three-manual console was fitted between the chancel and the Memorial Chapel. A separate external electric blower was located between the organ chamber and the south transept.
1n 1968, Rushworths completely renovated and revoiced the instrument. New stops and pipe-racks were added.
The console was refurbished in 2016 at a cost of £8000.
In summer 2017, the organ was dismantled and a rebuild by Henry Willis and Sons of Liverpool began. The work was completed in spring 2018 at a cost of £146000. It is of interest to note that Rushworth and Dreaper closed in 2002 and its premises in Liverpool was then used as its factory by Henry Willis and Sons, formerly of Petersfield.
