Mynwent Eglwys San Siôr

Adeiladwyd Eglwys San Siôr ym 1840 ac fe’i caewyd fel man addoli yn 2002. Mae’r adeilad bellach yn ganolfan fusnes ond mae’r fynwent yn parhau yng ngofal yr Ardal Weinidogaethol. Mae yna nifer o feddi Fictoraidd ac ar ochr ddeheuol yr eglwys mae Gardd Goffa gyda lleiniau ar gyfer lludw.

Mae’r fynwent yn cynnwys nifer o goed mân, aeddfed ac mae cymysgedd o flodau wedi’u trin a blodau gwyllt i’w gweld o amgylch y fynwent, gan ddenu bywyd gwyllt fel gwenyn ac adar. Mae mainc ger yr Ardd Goffa yn darparu lle tawel a dymunol i eistedd.

Mae’r fynwent yn cael ei gofalu gan grŵp bach o wirfoddolwyr, sydd bob amser yn hapus i groesawu aelodau newydd. Cysylltwch â ni os oes gennych ddiddordeb mewn ymuno.

Mae Eglwys San Siôr yn HiPoint.

Mae’r prosiect HistoryPoints (HiPoint) yn darparu gwybodaeth am fwy na 1000 o leoedd ledled Cymru ac mae’r wybodaeth ar gael drwy’r wefan ac ym mhob lleoliad trwy godau QR y gellir eu darllen gyda ffôn symudol. Mae cysylltiadau â HiPoints gerllaw yn galluogi ymwelwyr i gynllunio eu teithiau hanesyddol eu hunain.

St. George's Churchyard

St. George’s Church was built in 1840 and was closed as a place of worship in 2002. The building is now a business centre but the churchyard remains in the care of the Ministry Area. There are a number of Victorian graves and to the south side of the church there is a Garden of Remembrance with plots for ashes.

The churchyard contains a number of fine, mature trees and a mixture of cultivated and wild flowers may be seen around the churchyard, attracting wildlife such as bees and birds. A bench near the Memorial Garden provides a quiet and pleasant place to sit.

The churchyard is cared for by a small group of volunteers, who are always happy to welcome new members. Please contact us if are interested in joining.

St. George’s Church is a HiPoint.

The HistoryPoints (HiPoint) project provides information on more than 1000 places across Wales and the information is available via the website and at each location via QR codes which can be read with a mobile phone. Links to nearby HiPoints allow visitors to plan their own historic tours.
